This substantial rear extension was conceived to support a growing family while preserving a sense of refinement and independence. A thoughtfully designed, self-contained annexe was created for the client’s mother, offering privacy, comfort, and seamless connection to the main home. The architecture balances generosity with sensitivity, ensuring each generation can live together with ease, dignity, and quiet autonomy.

 

At the heart of the extension sits a discerning kitchen and expansive dining space, crowned by a motorised apex roof that floods the interior with natural light and drama in equal measure. Fully opening glazing dissolves the boundary between inside and out, revealing uninterrupted views across the new patio toward the tennis courts and spa set within the garden grounds.
