Period Detached Home In Hertfordshire
5180 Square feet
The team at Antonio Grano were contacted by a couple requiring a significant transformation in their three-storey period property. They required the removal of a significant period structural load-bearing wall that separated the kitchen and dining room. This was no small task, but it was essential for creating the open-concept space they envisioned.
The structural wall was meticulously removed once the necessary structural supports were erected. The team collaborated closely with a local structural engineer to ensure that all structural steel and concrete implementations were adhered to at each stage of the project.
Ensuring Robust Structural Integrity
The calculations and requirements for this structural solution were particularly robust. We had to ensure adequate structural support due to the load bearing down from the floors above in this period home. A significant level of concrete footing was required before fitting the structural steel beam.
The bespoke steel was created and shuttered in place after carefully propping the structural load. A cement pump was utilized to propel the cement through the property to the shuttered steel at the base of the newly formed opening. This was then allowed to set for a period of seven days before we progressed to the vertical steel beams connected to the overhead steel beam. This was essential for completing the robust structural support.
A Lasting Transformation
In conclusion, the transformation of this period propert meticulously re imagined to create our clients vision. By focusing on both structural integrity and our clients requirements for their newly remodelled home, a truly unique and lasting living space area was created as the central hub of this beautiful detached Georgian home.
