Structural & Interior Renovation — Belgravia Town House
Complete Structural Renovation, Attic Conversion & Rear Extension — 2,400 Square Feet
This Belgravia townhouse project began, as all serious structural renovations must, at the level of the building's foundations and frame. The detached rear outrigger was reinforced, the interior stripped to its structural shell, and all core mechanical and electrical systems were renewed — establishing a secure, high-quality base before any architectural or decorative ambition was pursued. This methodical approach to the fabric of the building is a hallmark of the Antonio Grano building team's work in prime central London, where the properties are too significant to accept shortcuts.
The architectural centrepiece of the project was the transformation of the underutilised attic into a duplex-style master ensuite: a roof-raise and floor-lowering that dramatically increased the height and usable area of the upper floor, flooding the new space with natural light. A rear extension with a reinforced glass roof terrace extended the ground floor lounge directly to the outdoors, whilst the garden was excavated, landscaped, and furnished with new seating and masonry to complete a cohesive indoor-outdoor living environment. The result is a Belgravia townhouse transformed from the ground up — every intervention made to serve both the immediate pleasure and the long-term value of this distinguished London address.
