Structural Wall Removal & Remodel — Marylebone Town House
Structural Remodelling & Open Plan Conversion — 2,400 Square Feet
This Marylebone townhouse was opened up by the Antonio Grano building team through the removal of internal structural walls — a programme of works that transformed a partitioned, light-restricted ground floor into a unified kitchen and dining environment of generous proportion and improved natural quality. The structural intervention was executed with precision, load-bearing elements replaced with engineered steel beams that carry the building's weight whilst eliminating the barriers that had previously divided and darkened the principal living spaces.
With those barriers removed, natural light now penetrates deep into the heart of the home — reaching areas that were previously shadowed throughout the day and creating an atmosphere of brightness and openness that transforms the experience of living in the property. Contemporary reflective surfaces were incorporated to further enhance the perception of space, whilst a strong visual and physical connection to the garden was established through the existing openings, integrating the outdoor landscape into daily life. The result is a Marylebone townhouse that works harder for its residents — more light, more space, and a ground floor that finally fulfils the potential the building always held.
