The remodel and creation of a shadow gap ceiling feature at a period property in Mayfair, London.

The client requested a modern, sophisticated ceiling aesthetic, with depth and mood-lit ambience by adding a lowered shadow gap ceiling on the perimeters of the room that provided a sleek look with a 'floating' ceiling effect, without compromising the height and stature of the room.

Installation Of Shadow Gap In The Lounge

Our bespoke Antonio Grano joinery team created a timber frame with plasterboard around the perimeter of the room before plastering. Illuminations were then installed in the suspended ceiling, where electrical work was enclosed to create a seamless look, resulting in a clean finish and a beautiful lighting effect for the ceiling.

Shadow gap solutions are sustainable and energy efficient LED lighting options which allow for a number of colour illuminations for the client to select if desired. The solution also provided the client with options to adjust the lighting from a tablet or mobile phone as per their preferences.

The mood within the property can also be effortlessly altered, from ambient or accent lighting to bright and dramatic. The floating ceiling effect also adds depth and enhanced architectural interest. These shadow gap features can be added to hallways, staircases and small spaces to give an illusion of height and space.
